I like to say my career in the theatrical arts started when I was cast in my middle school’s production of Seussical the Musical as Jojo. I fell in love with the stage and performing on opening night, and knew I wouldn’t be able to stop.
In my sophomore year of high school, I enrolled in our school’s theater production class. That’s when I fell in love with all the rest of theater, the actual making of live theater. I was fortunate enough that our school’s technical director had specifically studied lighting design. I was privileged to graduate high school with a solid foundational level of lighting design knowledge above what the average high school graduate might get.

Since high school, I have continued to work in the theatrical arts. Unfortunately, one does not simply become a lighting designer out of high school. That meant it was necessary to learn as many skills as possible to keep myself working and employed.
This is what has allowed me to take on a second title of Deck Manager. I have spent so much time in the wings as a deck hand and fly-rail operator, I’ve even taken on the roles typically performed by Stage Managers. I’ve only been a Deck Manager in title for two shows, but my experience shows that I absolutely know what is needed to continue working as one.

I occasionally dip my toes back into performing, so as to not lose those skills.
While living in New Jersey, in 2022, I decided to audition for a new musical being produced at The Players Theatre in Manhattan; Brilliance the Musical. I was cast as the only male member of the ensemble. It was also my first time being cast in an Off-Broadway show.
I have a natural ear for music, what is defined as Relative Perfect Pitch.
I also think I’m a pretty good dancer, as well. 😉
